I have a real soft spot of this painting of an African elephant majestically walking towards the viewer. I started this painting my drawing the elephant is flowing pencil line which you can still see through the paint. Like all the Wild collection, I painted this standing at the easel so it allowed me to make really bold brush strokes and the paint to move around the paper.
Did you know that an elephant’s trunk has more than 40,000 muscles in it and no bones, which give it the flexibility. However, the trunk can get very heavy at times. So, the elephants are seen to rest it on their tusk.
This original painting is completely unique and one of a kind. It is delivered professionally framed by Appletons Picture Framers in Stillorgan Dublin, in my signature limed white wooden frame, with an off-white double mount under glass. This piece is approximately 75cm x 90cm (framed) in size.
I know that buying a piece of original artwork is a big investment and photographs of watercolour paintings rarely does them justice, so you are more than welcome to visit me at area J67 at this year’s Art Source Art Fair in the RDS Dublin. This painting from my new WILD collection, and will be exhibited at Art Source in the RDS from 15th to 17th of November 2019.
Please note this painting will not be available for shipping or collection until after 15th November 2019.
