In preparation for painting the new WILD collection I spent lots of time selecting which animals to paint and I was immediately drawn to the bold stripes and markings of the beautiful Zebra. I’ve painted lots of horses over the years but this is my first time painting their wild cousin the Zebra!

Zippy is standing in the intense sunlight of the African planes so I’ve infused his mane with touches of intense gold watercolour pigment and florescent orange acrylic ink. I’ve injected the stripes with warm purples, turquoise and pink, and allowed the watercolour to drip down to accentuate the Zebra’s unique stripes. Did you know that a Zebra’s stripe patterns are unique to each animal just as fingerprints are to humans!

This original painting is completely unique and one of a kind. It is delivered professionally framed by Appletons Picture Framers in Stillorgan Dublin, in my signature limed white wooden frame, with an off-white double mount under glass. This piece is approximately 75cm x 90cm (framed) in size.

I know that buying a piece of original artwork is a big investment and photographs of watercolour paintings rarely does them justice, so you are more than welcome to visit me at area J67 at this year’s Art Source Art Fair in the RDS Dublin. This painting from my new WILD collection, and will be exhibited at Art Source in the RDS from 15th to 17th of November 2019.

Please note this painting will not be available for shipping or collection until after 15th November 2019.
