Polar Yoga 2
This is another polar bear from my polar yoga series. I really enjoy painting them as they relax and lounge in the snow. Polar bears are amazingly well adapted to survive in one of the harshest environments on our planet. As well as their thick fur, they have a layer of fat that protects their bodies from the frosty air and near-freezing water. Did you know that polar bears have black skin under their glistening coat, which helps them soak up the Sun’s rays and keep warm.
Although a white subject I’ve infused this painting with lots of golds, pinks, blues and turquoise.
Because of ongoing and potential loss of their sea ice habitat resulting from climate change, polar bears were listed as a threatened species in the US under the Endangered Species Act in May 2008.
This original painting is completely unique and one of a kind. It is delivered professionally framed by Appletons Picture Framers in Stillorgan Dublin, in my signature limed white wooden frame, with an off-white double mount under glass. This piece is approximately 75cm x 90cm (framed) in size.
I know that buying a piece of original artwork is a big investment and photographs of watercolour paintings rarely does them justice, so you are more than welcome to visit me at area J67 at this year’s Art Source Art Fair in the RDS Dublin. This painting from my new WILD collection, and will be exhibited at Art Source in the RDS from 15th to 17th of November 2019.
Please note this painting will not be available for shipping or collection until after 15th November 2019.
